Qualifications: Minimum Certification/Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
Master’s degree preferred
Teacher certification in
Deaf/Hard of Hearing (EC-12) and
Highly qualified in at least 1 core subject (English, Math, Science or Social Studies)
TASC (Texas Assessment of Sign Communication)
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the deaf education teacher is to provide academic instruction which will enable students with auditory impairments access to the general education curriculum as determined by the Admission, Review and Dismissal committee with an emphasis on English language acquisition and development.
